130 – The Simp with Dr. Roshan Sethi

The Curious Clinicians were thrilled to have Dr. Roshan Sethi, a practicing radiation oncology physician, television and film screenwriter, director, producer and novelist on the show. Roshan’s incisive, hilarious, insightful, and extraordinarily honest debut novel The Simp, which takes a hard look at the underbelly of Hollywood culture, was published in July 2026. In our conversation with Roshan we discussed how he got his start in TV and movies, how he blends his medical career on the East Coast with the life of an artist on the West Coast, what inspired him to write his novel, and what he’s looking forward to next (spoiler: he’s got a new feature film, The Surgeon, which he wrote and directed and which stars Michelle Yeoh and Martin Freeman, debuting this fall).
